Our programs
One mission. Many ways to act.
Each program addresses a different part of the same living system. They share one organization, one standard of accountability, and one commitment to long-term care.

Explore programHow we work
Respond. Restore. Protect. Educate. Prevent. Connect.
We address what is happening now and the conditions that allow harm to continue. The same framework guides every program.
- 01
Respond
Address immediate suffering or environmental harm.
- 02
Restore
Repair damaged animals, habitat, soil, water, or ecological systems.
- 03
Protect
Preserve valuable land, habitat, wildlife, and natural resources.
- 04
Educate
Help people understand why stewardship and responsibility matter.
- 05
Prevent
Address underlying conditions that repeatedly create harm.
- 06
Connect
Bring together people, expertise, resources, and communities capable of helping.
National by design. Local by action.
Built to grow responsibly, not just quickly
Animal Sanctuary & Rescue already accepts help requests nationwide. Direct response, foster, transport, veterinary, partner, agency, wildlife, and marine-network coordination vary by each case and location.
Programs may begin with volunteers, a restoration project, a land opportunity, a donor-supported conservation fund, or a local partnership. As support develops, DBT can build responsible long-term programs around that community's actual needs, with the permits and approvals the work requires.
We do not claim staff, facilities, properties, permits, direct field coverage, or chapters where verified operations do not exist.
A framework for future regional records — not a claim that any region has reached these stages.
Why we do it
A life matters because that life matters
Something does not have to be profitable, popular, visible, or prestigious to be worth doing. We believe life has value for its own sake, and that doing what is right matters even when it is not convenient.
That means looking at the whole problem: immediate suffering, underlying causes, and the people or natural systems affected. It means choosing practical work that can produce measurable improvement within our lifetime and sphere of influence.
We cannot solve everything. We can take responsibility for what is within reach, work carefully, and help more people do the same. The outcome — not the organization — is the point.

Better conditions for people, animals, and natural systems
Doing Big Things seeks long-term solutions that promote responsible coexistence between people, domestic animals, wildlife, and the systems that support them.
01
Understand the system
Look at how people, animals, water, soil and habitat are actually interacting in a place before deciding what to change.
02
Identify the harm
Name clearly what is being damaged and who is living with the consequences — including the living things that cannot speak for themselves.
03
Address immediate needs
Relieve suffering and stop active damage now, even while the larger problem is still being worked out.
04
Repair underlying causes
Fix what allowed the harm to happen, rather than repeating the same rescue indefinitely.
05
Create better long-term coexistence
Leave conditions in which people, domestic animals, wildlife and natural systems can share the same landscape responsibly.
Accountability

Current status
Built to be verifiable
Doing Big Things exists to recognize where help is missing and take meaningful action. We work across problems rather than around them, bringing together people, resources, knowledge, and practical solutions to protect life, reduce suffering, strengthen communities, and address the conditions that allow problems to continue.
Doing Big Things is a charitable organization in formation. We do not claim properties, chapters, partnerships, permits, results, or tax status that have not been verified.
