Privacy policy
Reporting an animal often means sharing your location and sometimes your identity. We treat that as sensitive information and restrict it accordingly.
What we collect
- Report details: animal type, condition, description, timing and the location you provide, including GPS coordinates when you choose to share them.
- Photos you upload with a report.
- Contact details you choose to provide. Reports may be submitted anonymously.
- Basic technical information needed to operate and secure the site.
How report data is used
- To triage, route and respond to animal cases, and to refer cases to authorized partners or agencies where required by law.
- To follow up with you about your report if you provided contact information.
- To maintain case records, review outcomes and improve our response.
Who can see it
- Exact locations, reporter contact details and case photos are restricted to trained staff and assigned responders.
- Anonymous users cannot read submitted reports. Public pages never show exact coordinates or reporter identities.
- We share information with agencies or authorized partners when it is necessary to help the animal or when required by law.
Photos and media
- Photos submitted with reports are stored privately and used for identification, coordination and documentation.
- Any public, promotional or fundraising use of your photo requires your separate permission.
Retention and removal
- Case records are retained for operational, legal and animal-welfare reasons.
- You may request removal of your personal contact details from a report. Contact us with your case number.
- Some records may be retained where required by law or where removal would compromise an active case.
Children
- Our services are intended for adults. Youth education participation requires parent or guardian involvement.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without guardian consent.
