Nationwide animal help

Doing Big Things accepts animal-help requests across the United States. We triage the situation, keep ownership of the case, and coordinate the right next step based on the animal, location, urgency, safety, applicable law, and available qualified resources.

Call 911 for immediate danger to people. Animal control, law enforcement, public health, wildlife authorities, and marine networks retain their legal roles. DBT intake does not replace emergency services.

How help works

The method changes. The door stays open.

Submitting a report does not guarantee pickup, a response time, direct field response, funding, or placement. It does mean the request can enter one shared intake and coordination process.

  • DBT direct response

Where a qualified DBT responder is available and authorized.

  • Remote guidance and case coordination

Safety guidance, information gathering, follow-up, and ownership of the next step.

  • Foster coordination

Temporary, emergency, medical, recovery, or longer-term placements matched to approved caregivers.

  • Transport coordination

Qualified drivers, safe handoffs, and relays when distance is part of the problem.

  • Veterinary coordination

Connection to appropriate licensed veterinary care based on urgency and availability.

  • Verified partner response

Shelters, rescues, transporters, specialists, and other qualified organizations.

  • Wildlife and public-safety escalation

Licensed rehabilitators, animal control, law enforcement, public health, and wildlife agencies.

  • Marine network coordination

Authorized marine-stranding and federal networks retain legal response authority.

What stays internal

Detailed responder availability, permits, species restrictions, partner capacity, foster addresses, facility capacity, and exact sensitive locations guide routing internally. They do not decide whether someone is allowed to ask for help.
